About Tessa | |

|
This is Tessa. Tessa came from a situation where she was surrounded by many other chihuahuas, but was either treated unkindly by the humans in her life, or simply not exposed to them at all. She has so much to offer, but will require an adopter who is willing to give her some time and space. Like people, Tessa comes with a bit of baggage. On a very positive note, she is already house trained, extremely sweet and has beautiful manners. Tessa is also a talker. She loves to greet you at the door and tell you all about how much she has missed you. She will continue to tell you her story of loneliness until you take the time to bend down and let her sniff and kiss your hand. She tells these stories with a variety of squeaking noises combined with little barks. We say that she has a "peacock tail" because she wags it so quickly it creates a semi-circle similar to the wide-spread feathers on a peacock. If she is awake, it is wagging. It was not this way when we first got her, but it sure is now. Tessa is the most gorgeous shade of brown and she has little white hairs on her muzzle and around her eyes that make her beautifully unique. She came to our rescue pregnant, had her babies and now the babies are long gone. Tessa needs someone to spoil her now. She would be a perfect companion for another dog and though she is not snuggly, she follows her people around gladly and it is evident that she loves them. Tessa receives a lot of attention here and has met many new human and canine friends. Tessa recently had a few seizures and in on medication that is controlling them. She will need someone willing to continue to monitor the medication with their very. Anyone interested in her would need to realize that she is a work in progress though totally worth the effort. If you or someone you know is looking for either a companion for their dog or for themselves, but is not necessarily desiring a dog that will be on their lap and right next to them on the couch, Tessa might be a good fit. She loves walks, bully sticks and deserves a loving home.
