Skipper is available for adoption.  She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and will come with a lifetime microchip registration.

Skipper is a sweet, gentle girl and an all-around great dog!  She weighed 18.5 lbs the last time I had her to the vet.  She gets along well with my personal dogs and with my other foster.  She very rarely barks.  When my dogs are barking up a storm at the garbage truck she will just come and sit by me…she doesn’t want any part of a fuss.   She has a beautiful disposition.  She is timid and shy in new situations and her forever family will need to help her understand that she is safe and loved.  She loves to cuddle and give kisses.  She wraps her paws around you which is beyond cute.  She likes to play with toys and with the other dogs.  She sleeps next to me on my pillow and I sometimes feel an occasional kiss on my forehead when I’m sleeping.

She had a rough time before she came to ARF rescue.  She was brought into county as a young, pregnant stray.  She gave birth to 6 puppies while in the county shelter.  I don’t know if you’ve ever been to county, but it’s a loud, scary place.  Despite being skinny and scared she was an amazing momma to her puppies.  I had so much admiration and respect for her from the start that I just had to foster her personally.  It took time for her to learn to trust me, but she has blossomed into the sweetest love bug.  She’s a bit silly and a bit of a tom boy.  She is so eager to love and be loved.  I have never fostered, owned or met a better dog.

Skipper loves to run and play and needs a home with fenced in yard.  She is not aggressive at all, but she does jump up sometimes when she’s excited which may be a factor if you have small children.  She is scared of loud noises.  There is gentleness about her, and given her background I think she would do best in a home that is more on the peaceful side vs. a loud or chaotic home.
