Meet Abilene!  

Abilene is female, black, Dachshund / Chihuahua mix that will turn 2 years old this summer.  There is a lot of fun packed in to this 9 lb little girl! 

Abilene has a sweet personality and she likes to wrestle!  She will come to you to collect her hugs and kisses and then she will likely have to get back to the important work of exploring the yard and playing.  She enjoys lounging with her people, napping, running around the yard and bully sticks!  She plays well with other dogs and would be a great companion for your medium to smaller sized dog at home.  Abilene tolerates big dogs, but finds them a little off-putting.  She is fine with cats.    

Abilene was rescued from a Texas shelter when she was expecting.  She was an amazing mom to her 3 beautiful puppies and now she is ready to find a loving forever home of her own.  Abilene uses a doggy door and is doing well with her potty training.  She occasionally has an accident during the night so you’ll need to be sure to take her out just before bedtime.

Abilene is a smart, fun, friendly pup – just a great all-around pet!  This friendly girl will do best in a home where she will have free rein.  Abilene needs and wants to be part of the family and she gets upset when she is confined in a kennel, a pen or behind a baby gate.
