Bonnie is one super survivor!
This girl was found pregnant and emaciated in the far East valley desert. Animal Rescue Friends accepted her and jumped into action to care for her and her puppies.
Blood work revealed some organ damage as a result of the starvation she had endured. Once her pups were old enough to be weaned, multiple foster homes stepped up to care for her puppies and Bon
nie was moved to a wonderful foster home to focus on healing and getting well.
Dr. Julie Mayer (
www.integrativeveterinarian.com)
coached us on a healthy home cooked diet and supplements to support her organs while they healed and ease her digestive tract to end the bouts of colitis she was experiencing. Bonnie responded like a champ and her bloodwork in now perfect!
This little beauty steals the hearts of everyone she meets and she will soon be ready for a family to love and dote on her the way every dog deserves. If you want to be the lucky one Bonnie chooses to spend her life with, please submit an application at www.animalrescuefriends.org
Bonnie is approx 3-4 years old and currently weighs 14.4 lbs. Her ideal weight will be approx 15 lbs. She will do well in a home with other dogs, cats and older children. It will be important that she remains on a good quality food (home cooked is no longer required).
